The Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) was founded on October 3, 1947 in Bharananganam, Kerala, during the centenary celebrations of St. Therese of Lisieux. Initiated by Rev. Fr. Joseph Maliparampil and P.C. Abraham Pallattukunnel ("Kunjettan"), it was established with a vital vision: following India’s independence, as foreign missionaries departed, CML aimed to cultivate indigenous vocations to priesthood and religious life. Within the Diocese of Kothamangalam (erected in 1957), CML has played an indispensable role in spiritual formation. Guided by the Director and based out of the NESTT Pastoral Centre, Muvattupuzha, Kothamangalam CML has grown to encompass 112 active parish units divided into 8 Mekhalas. It serves as the primary lay movement training high school students and youth to live out the missionary calling through concrete acts of prayer and sacrifice.
